This is one of my life's goal to visit all of the highest peaks in each of the fifty states in the USA and it's territories. I am lucky enough to have April, Paisley and now Scout as well as a cast of great friends and family that tag along and share in this journey with me.

Washington D.C. Fort Reno 409ft -
Me, pooh, baby, paisley, marc and berry. this one was different. it was marc and berry's first high pt which makes paisley a pro now! there was much heat and "excitement" in the air. this peak is a tricky one, haha, since the peak was moved from behind a fence thanks to the high pointers club since it was on a man made spot inside fort reno and moved to the true natural high point outside the fence in public space. President Obama has even been there to check it out. there were tons of people out there playing soccer and hanging out and we even found out that there is a stage that bands play there on Mondays and Thursdays so it is a happening peak. for the record marc, paisley and I found the usgs marker but berry and pooh made a good try at hunting for it. I also found out the this is/was a real fort that was the only sight in D.C. that had a battle in the civil war. Now I think it is a top secret hide out for the big guys in D.C. or research on crazy things from outer space or it is just storage. anyway fun times

Maryland Backbone Mountain - 3,360 feet -
me, pooh, baby, and Paisley ( her third one!) . after we left PA's mount davis on a "we did it high"! So we decided to go bag another peak in the same day. so we said or goodbyes to all of the Amish peeps and head to MD. forgetting that the rain was coming in that afternoon. we needed to get paze to take a nap in the car and beat the rain so one out of two isn't bad. the closer we got the larger the rain drops got and then the bottom dropped! boo, I thought well good try and maybe next time, then my beautiful bride says lets do it. so we got a plan and in the pouring rain headed up the steepest incline that we have been up in a long time. nice trail but straight up stinks. I am sure that the area was nice but it was raining so hard that all we could see was the ground in front of us. on the way down we sang songs and laughed, I love my family. on the way to the trail head we found the smallest church, seats 12 in all and just passed the trail head we found the craziest mass deer dump that I have ever seen, yuck! but got to say when team chambers decides to do something, we get it done!
