This is one of my life's goal to visit all of the highest peaks in each of the fifty states in the USA and it's territories. I am lucky enough to have April, Paisley and now Scout as well as a cast of great friends and family that tag along and share in this journey with me.

High Point NJ 1803ft Me, April, Paisley, Scout, and Erin Kile

We started our day in the great city of Hoboken NJ.  There was a chance of rain in the afternoon so we hit the road mid morning to High Point State Park.
Check out April's best parallel parking job ever!!!!  So Proud.
Loaded up and ready to go.
The trip was a easy one.  Just an hour and a half and we were there.  Just that morning we were looking at the nyc skyline, now wide open spaces.

to the top is 291 stairs.  it got stuffy and hot and mind bending the closer we got to the top.
a view from the bottom looking up
the view looking down from the top
the top was....... was.......blaaaa.  I think they should redo the top to match how nice the outside is.  The windows were yucky and as you can see the walls needed help.
 Here is the tippy top!

Here is a view out of one of the windows at the top.
one of the windows in the middle of the tower

here are our rocks we hid.  Mine was Dr Who
Paisley's was a kid with an apple
Scouts was superman with a feather wrapping around the side

 April's........is.........awesome!
we hid our painted rocks and picked up some more for the next high pt

mt washington nh 6288ft me, April, Paisley, and Scout

We had a great day!  Mt Washington was awesome.  April, Paisley, Scout (his first high peak), and myself drove up the 8 mile road and boy it was steep.
They aren't playing, there were drop offs and tight turns and no barriers, it was exciting.

 here we go.

as we got to the top we were neck in neck with the cog trail and as we parked it stopped in the "station".

we can barely stand it.  we were jumping and laughing in the parking lot.  we must of looked crazy.

made it!  April was worried the kids were going to blow off the mt. but it couldn't have been better weather.  sunny cool 47 degrees and not a cloud in the sky.

who knew there was a post office up there?
what do you think this lady is thinking?
paze was a big girl and took it onto herself to ask what these tracks were and who made them.  They told her they were from a bear. she was speechless.
we have started a new tradition of make a picnic lunch and having it at a cool spot.  this is the coolest spot we found. Plus Scout tried out jelly bread, he loved it.  From our lunch spot we could see into Canada and almost to the Atlantic ocean, wild!

um. I barely used the brakes. Aprils car in low gear kept us at a perfect speed.

as we turned onto the road back home.....the kids were out.  We had a really great day.
