This is one of my life's goal to visit all of the highest peaks in each of the fifty states in the USA and it's territories. I am lucky enough to have April, Paisley and now Scout as well as a cast of great friends and family that tag along and share in this journey with me.

Puerto Rico Cerro De Punta 4386ft
Me and Dale Wood

the roads here twist and turn. we had three different maps, (a map from the rental car place, a print out from the web and my phone with gps) we went with the phone and took off towards ponce. so we took what we thought was a major road 511 north towards 143.......... but 40 minutes on 511 and many tiny tiny towns later there was a gate across the road locked! soooooo we had to turn around and go back! on the way back we decided to stop and ask someone for help. first stop, sorry gringo no english, second stop never heard of it, and third stop sorry I am from New Jersey! what are the odds?! someone from New Jersey in the jungles of Puerto Rico? but after we got back on 14 and after battling a yucky bathroom. we hit 10 and were off the map on my phones gps for a bit. so the hertz map ended up being the most help.

as we got closer the clouds came in and we lost the great views.

this was great to see! the end of our route.

the unmarked turn off. oh boy here we goooooooooo................

made it! time to hike.

ok hiking over we are here.

this was the only sky we saw in a break in the clouds.

this is the view looking off to the north west

this was a first for me. I went to the highest peak and then two days later I was at the lowest part of the island. I had a great time while I was there.
